Our student privacy promise

ESAT 912 is designed to meet FERPA. This page summarizes our approach for district review.

The district owns the data

Each district signs a data agreement. SATRDE acts as a "school official" under FERPA and uses student records only to provide the service.

We collect only what's needed

No Social Security numbers, no home addresses, birth year only. No ads, no tracking scripts. Student data is never sold and never used to train AI.

Strict separation and logging

Data is separated by district and school. Teachers see their own rosters, counselors see assigned students, and every view of a student record is logged and exportable.

Parent and student rights

Parents can view, download and request corrections. At age 18, those rights move to the student. Directory-information opt-out is supported.

Retention and deletion

Districts choose how long records are kept after graduation and can request deletion at any time.

Under-13 and state laws

Sign-ups under age 13 are blocked (COPPA). We provide a state privacy checklist (e.g. Tennessee, California SOPIPA) and a Student Data Privacy Consortium agreement template.
